The Call to Pastor Mark Jordan: 1987-1990
By April 1987, Ironbridge had 79 enrolled in Sunday school. After many months of
prayer and hard work, the church called Reverend Mark R. Jordan, by unanimous vote, to
be its first pastor. Mark, Parilee ("Pal"), and their young children arrived in August
1987. Mark was a gifted speaker who preached the Word with a great deal of energy.
Many new people joined the church, and the Building Committee began working on plans
for constructing a multi-purpose building on Ironbridge Road. The church's theme,
"The Church that Love is Building," expressed the joy and hope of the growing
fellowship.
