Mission Minded 2001-2004

God continues to pour out His blessing on Ironbridge. IBC's first F.A.I.T.H group is started with about 20 people. The second semester is blessed with even more: 40 people. Their ministry contineues to carry out our mission statement and add to God's Kingdom. God's people join together to publish a devotional book called "A View From the Bridge." This is composed of inspirational events in the lives of those contributing.

Missions is at the forefront of this church. Two trips to Africa were completed. A trip to Grifton, NC to help the flood ravaged people there was a huge success. IBC along with 1500 other churches nationwide completed the "40 Days of Purpose" study. IBC is blessed with its first full-time missionaries, leaving for service after December 2002. Additional Mission trips to Mexico, Maryland, Boise, Idaho, and Africa were completed in 2003.

2003 brought more blessings to His people as Ironbridge pays off the COC campaign debt. On January 5, Our minister of music, Paul Cochran, was ordained. Christmas in July brought contributions from God's people totaling more than $16,450 for the Lottie Moon offering.

Dr. Steve Maltempi2004 Began with IBC's new Youth Pastor, Steve Maltempi, and his wife Joy and two children moving to Chesterfield. Steve breathed new life into the Ironbridge Youth Ministry, bringing many exciting new ideas and planning several Youth mission trips.

IBC sent out 7 mission teams to Africa, Poland, Mexico, Thailand, Florida, Virginia, and India. The Awana Program reaches out to the community in a strong way with more children attending than ever before.

Plans get underway for expanding the current facility and developing the 19 acres of land the church recently purchased.
