Building 4 Life 2005-Present
2005 marked the twentieth anniversary of Ironbridge Baptist Church. After twenty years, Ironbridge continues to "touch every home in Chesterfield County and beyond while reaching the world for Jesus Christ."
We believe that a vital part of our mission is to make room for the multitudes of people right here in the greater Chesterfield County area. The Lord has given the church a fresh vision to "enlarge the place of our tent" (Isaiah 54:2) that will allow us to reach even more people with the good news of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, March 13, 2005, the entire Ironbridge family gathered together for one special church-wide worship celebration at Thomas Dale High School. The event kicked off Ironbridge's "Building 4 Life" campaign with the theme "MISSION: POSSIBLE," echoing Matthew 19:26.
During the summer, mission trips were completed to Kenya, and Thailand.
On October 2, 2005, Ironbridge celebrated its twentieth anniversary with two services at Thomas Dale High School.
One year later, on October 8th, 2006, the church membership voted to begin construction of the new 800-seat worship center. The ground next to the existing sanctuary was cleared, and on Sunday, October 29th, a special Groundbreaking service was held outdoors on the site. Rev. Cecil Chambers, former pastor of Branch's Baptist Church, Jim Hamacher, Executive Director of the Middle District Baptist Association, and Delegate Kirk Cox each were in attendance and asked for God's blessings on the new worship center building. Construction is estimated to be completed by December, 2007. View photos of construction progress!
It's an exciting time to be a part of Ironbridge Baptist Church. We are indeed a "church on the move!"
