Middle District Baptist Association Missions Opportunities
Angel Tree
The Angel Tree is a ministry of Prison Fellowship. The Angel Tree ministry is available to all prisoners who have children ages 16 and under. The prisoners complete applications which are forwarded to area churches. Each church's Angel Tree ministry contacts the caregivers of these children to determine the child's Christmas wishes. Each child receives two gifts, one clothing item and one toy, with a total value of no more than $35. The church coordinator then writes out the information about the child and the gift wishes on tags provided by Angel Tree. The tags are placed on a Christmas tree in the church. Church members then select tags from the tree and purchase and wrap the gifts. Shortly before Christmas, the gifts are delivered to the child's home and the Gospel message is presented.

Courtyards Assisted Living Center
WOW is currently involved with outreach at the Courtyards Assisted Living Center behind the church. We've been offered free lunches on Sundays, at 11:00 a.m., if we just let them know ahead of time so they can plan for more people. All they want in return is our company! Also, the residents there love company any time...you can come and go as you please and you'll always find several people in the TV room. Just take a minute to talk with them...it makes their day!! IBC members are also leading a Sunday school class each Sunday a.m. at the Courtyards Center for the residents, and we've had a communion service for them before, too. Musicians, teachers, other helpers are welcome to come and help. The Thursday morning WOW small group with Joan Riddick meets there every last Thursday, and we plan something to do with the residents each time... The opportunities are endless!
