April 2021 BridgeBlast

From Our Staff

From Pastor Gary:

Revived:  I am thanking the Lord for a great revival time this past weekend. It was so good to be in the Lord’s presence in this special way during this crazy Covid time!!! Dr. Fort brought some great messages, as well as a special prayer seminar on Saturday morning. All of the message videos are available on the Ironbridge Facebook page. The prayer seminar will be there as well.
I was so impressed that Gordon felt led to preach on prayer as I had given him no specific indication of a direction for the revival. The Friday message focused on our covenant relationship with God. Saturday evening the focus was on the Gospel and its power in our new life. Both of these were a foundation for Sunday morning’s message on Effective Prayer. As your pastor I was impressed as prayer has been established as our first calling in our Purpose. Amazing how the Lord leads and affirms His guidance.
EASTER 2021:  It is so exciting to prepare for Easter which is upon us. Somehow I have just really anticipated Easter this year. It has been such a strange season that we are living through together that calls for Resurrection Power. We will have a Men’s Good Friday Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. Steve Whitlock is heading up this time for us. This will be outside at the cross, and we do ask you to wear masks so we can be a little closer together. Easter at the Bridge-Drive thru Edition on Saturday, April 3rd will be an exciting expression of the Easter story for our community. Be praying for this and serve if possible, on that day. We are so thankful for Tammy Baylor and her team who are working so hard to lead us in this outreach which is on target for such a time as this.
Easter Worship:  Invite your family and friends for the two worship times on April 4th at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. It will be a powerful time of celebrating our Risen Savior. Our theme this year is: Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. We will be looking at the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus from 1 Corinthians 15. Let’s pray for a powerful time on Easter morning.
Ironbridge Israel Trip rescheduled for February 20-March 2, 2022:  We are so happy that this trip is back up again. It has been so hard to navigate the changing world situation. Paul Klassen, our tour leader, will be here on May 23, 2021 for an interest session immediately following the second morning service. Here is the link to the Israel trip: https://aliyahtours.org/iron-bridge-church-tour

Wishing everyone a very meaningful Easter season.

From Pastor Paul:

As I said last month, time seems to be moving faster these days. I can hardly believe Easter is upon us! This is an amazing time of year that can help us get a better focus on our relationship with Christ. How amazing it is to think of all that Jesus did for us through the cross and resurrection!
We have some great opportunities to zero-in on what Christ did. First, I want to encourage our men to come to the Good Friday Sunrise Service, Friday April 2nd in front of the church at 6:30 a.m. Those who come together experience a super time thinking about what Jesus went through on our behalf. This event has been organized by Steve Whitlock for many years at Ironbridge, and he will bring a devotional that morning. Even though we are outside, we are asking men to wear masks as we will be in closer proximity to each other…sometimes it is hard to hear as the traffic buzzes by.
On Saturday, April 3rd we will have Easter at the Bridge – Drive Thru Edition. I am sure that Tammy is focusing her comments on that event as she has been the driving force in pulling it together. What a creative way to hold this event during these crazy days. I look forward to all that can be experienced in it. This is an event for the community, so please invite your friends and neighbors. You can forward and share the invites you see on social media or use the printed post cards provided in the Gathering. This is a unique way for us to share the love of Christ to our community!
I also want to encourage us as we gather for Easter Sunday, April 4th. What a great day as we understand the cross; move to the resurrection and experience the amazing gift Jesus is to all who believe. Since Easter falls on the first Sunday of April we will observe communion. This will be a great reminder of all that Christ did as we move through observing His death and resurrection in a single service. Just as we did at Christmas, when we knew that our building would have more people, we want to encourage the wearing of masks and being careful around each other. I personally want us to remain as safe as possible, and do this for others with whom we come in contact.
And then finally I would like to highlight two Bridge Groups. On April 1st our Thursday P.M. Ladies Bible Study begins a new Study on Elijah. It is certainly not too late to join in. Just go to the Bridge Groups page from our church website, or through your Church Center app to join. Victoria Bates is the wonderful leader of this group. They meet at church on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm in a room off of Z -Street Student Center.
I would also like to bring to your attention a new Bridge Group that just began March 24th. This group, called Truth Be Told, is led by one of our amazing couples, Mike and Tamara Tatum. They will meet at the church Wednesday evenings at 7pm in room 221. This group is open to married couples and provides a great opportunity for parents of the youth who come to Wednesday night FUZED. You can sign up online for this, and any other Bridge Group.

From Zach:

Everyone loves a good comeback story. In 1980 the San Francisco 49ers came back 28 points to beat the Saints. In 1996 The Utah Jazz came back to win 107-103 after being down 36 points.

February was a challenging month. Many of our gatherings were canceled because of ice and snow. My wife and I had to quarantine away from students for several weeks because she tested positive. We even had the disappointment of having to reschedule Reset 21 due to inclement weather.

However, God had a comeback story brewing. What we thought was a negative, postponing our event, God turned into a huge blessing as over ten additional students were able to join for the March date. Forty students came for three days of life-changing biblical teaching and fun events.

As we turn to April, we are eager to celebrate a much bigger comeback. After dying for our sins, Christ physically rose from the dead! This month we will be celebrating his resurrection as we close our Unexpected Sermon Series and begin our new series on Values.

Check out the attached pictures and the calendar for April!

With Gratitude,

Zach Ginn
