Hear from Our Staff…
From Pastor Gary:
Needing a special touch from the Lord. These words describe my feelings as we prepare for our Revival, March 19-21. When you stop and think of all that we have been through; have been a part of; or what we have seen happening in the past year, needing a special touch is quite understandable. Isaiah 64:1 states it this way, “Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down…come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you.” We need this special moving of God to revive and restore and strengthen us as we serve Him now and in the future.
I have heard revival described as a special moving of God. There is the “normal” working of God, which is powerful in its own way, but the “unusual” working of God among us is what we need and plead for.
I remember as a young boy the special times of revival in my home church. It was good that we sought the Lord together for an extended period of time. When we as His people gather together, “in person” and/or “in spirit”, with hearts focused on the Lord, great things can happen. Let’s pray for cleansing and forgiveness of sin that we may see and hear the Lord. Let’s pray for “heart focus” together and not allow ourselves to be distracted “by the world, the flesh, or by the devil himself.” Our adversary is surely at work these days.
By God’s grace and strength, we will meet together on Friday night and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Then Sunday morning we will meet twice as we normally do at 9:00 and 10:45 a.m. Masks will be required at all these services as usual. The night services will be livestreamed at 7:00 p.m., as well as the 10:45 a.m. Sunday morning service. Dr. Gordon Fort will be with us again. As you know he is strong in the Lord, so pray for the Lord to use him in a mighty way among us.
From Pastor Paul:
Does it seem like time is moving at a faster pace these days? The summer months are drawing near, and I am working on setting up Summer Connection Groups that make sense. Is there an activity that you may have in common with others? If you have an idea for a summer group that could meet together a few times this summer, while remaining safe during Covid-19, please reach out to me at email@example.com.
I want to bring to your attention our Ladies Bible Study that meets on Wednesday mornings from 10am till noon. This Bridge Group, led by Rany Schmitz, is beginning a new video study next week, March 3rd, entitled “Elijah” with Priscilla Shirer.
You can also check out ALL of our Bridge Groups by going directly to the Bridge Group’s Page or through our church website, www.ironbridge.org then Menu, Groups and Events, then Groups. There are many options for Sunday morning as well as during the week. Browse and see what a good fit for you may be.
Let me encourage you to volunteer where you can and help Tammy Baylor out for Easter at the Bridge, Drive-Thru Edition. Just check with her and see where help is needed. This will be a great community outreach. Let’s show our love as we did during the Drive Thru Nativity to those in our area. I believe we will continue to find out who we are as a church when together we discover new ways to reach out into the community.
We are looking forward, in the coming months, to a couple of clean up days inside and outside of our church building. It is important to us that we take care of the facilities that God has granted us. Keep an eye out for specific dates that you can jump in and help.
Ironbridge is a great church, filled with great people with amazing gifts and abilities that can be used for God’s glory. Let us reach out as we continue to grow and see what special things God can accomplish in and through us!
From Pastor Zach:
When I felt called to name the new sermon series on Jonah, “Unexpected,” I did not know that it would be a perfect description of the month of February. This past month, many of our gatherings had to be rescheduled because of ice and my wife tested positive for covid. Resulting in a long quarantine period
for our family.
However, though we cannot control the storms of life, we are grateful that God is in control. He often uses storms to settle us back into a season of surrender.
We believe that March is going to be a fresh opportunity to step back into trust and worship in the God who is in control. For details of all of our gatherings this month, I encourage you to read the calendar on the students page: here.
