From Pastor Gary
BREAKING THROUGH “Break throughs” are times of great relief, clarity, or celebration. As believers we have seen and we have celebrated “break throughs” for which we are very thankful. But the truth is that life keeps presenting us with the awareness of areas and situations where we need help and insight to see a “break through.” This Sunday we are starting a new series entitled that will hopefully provide awareness of and help for “break throughs” on many levels. I am looking forward to this time centered on God’s Word applied to real-life situations.
A CALL TO PRAYER Our first “calling” as a church is prayer. It is especially important during this time of Pastor Search. I want to encourage you to make prayer a priority with a focus on God’s leadership as we move forward. Our Deacons, prayer ministry and our small group ministry will be leading this emphasis May 16-23. There will be more info in this Bridgeblast and in the days ahead regarding this effort. UPWARD AND FORWARD. This past Sunday we looked at how Paul’s “higher calling” from the Lord Jesus kept him moving upward and forward regardless of his circumstances. We have many opportunities for ministry ahead of us as a church. We are slowly but surely moving through this strange Covid time. In this spring and summer we are having many opportunities to share and serve in Jesus’ name. I am excited about how the Lord will use us together as we stay strong in Him and live boldly for Him.
From Pastor Paul
A CALL TO PRAYER Prayer should certainly be a priority in our personal lives as well as our church life. A Call to Prayer is a Deacon initiated week for the church to come together with a focus on praying for our newly formed Pastor Search Team. There will also be a Prayer Guide, created by Judy Diehl, to enhance the experience. We are asking that each Bridge Group and Sunday morning Bible Fellowship Bridge Group commit all or part of their meeting during the week of May 16 – 23 to prayer with this focus. As part of this emphasis, we will devote all or part of the Wednesday Night Live Prayer Service on May
19th at 7:00 p.m. to this. You can come in person that night. It is especially being made available for those not involved in a Bridge Group, but anyone may attend this prayer time. This will also be live streamed, so you may choose to participate in that way. During our Classic Service on May 27 th at 11:00
a.m. we will have a stronger prayer focus with these initiatives. We are a multigenerational church and want this to be an effort the whole church participates in. Young Adults, Students, and Children’s Ministries are taking part in this as well during that week. As we join together, we will see God do amazing things. His word tells us that “He will do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” What an amazing promise!
SUMMER CONNECTION GROUPS Our groups are starting to come together for this Summer. If you have a suggestion for a group, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WORSHIP/TECH TEAM I am so thankful to God for answers to prayer. We have been gaining some ground in the Worship and Tech Ministries with the addition of new people. I am continuing to pray as we always want to be open to those who have gifts in these areas; seeking to express them through service.
Thank you, Ironbridge Church, for continuing to pray with me over this.
Children’s Ministry Director Tammy Baylor

From Youth Pastor Zach Ginn
At Ironbridge student ministry, we aim to see each student own their faith in Christ and leverage their lives for his cause. We have seen evidence of this hope happening in the lives of our students. Each Sunday they gather with Leverage Teams where they use their spiritual gifts to build up those around them and create ideas to reach those without a church home. This past month they came up with an idea to have an outdoor day to invite their friends to. It has been encouraging for our team to witness their ideas and dreams about ministry opportunities come to life.
For May, our attention turns to Summer Camp. From June 21-25 we will be driving to Liberty University to spend a week in intentional discipleship. Interested in learning more about summer camp? We will host a Zoom meeting to discuss camp details and answer questions on 5/10 at 7 pm. The meeting will be recorded for those unable to join. The invitation will be sent out to parents through the email list.
For information on our regular gatherings, please review our Student Ministry Calendar on ironbridge.org. Please join us in praying that we would see students own their faith in Christ and leverage their lives for his cause.
