From Pastor Gary:
Thank you for answering the Call to Prayer When we lived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia we were always hearing calls to prayer. These would be regularly during the day and even in the early predawn hours. These “calls” were either from the Muslim mosques or from the Ethiopian Orthodox churches. It is a shame that “calls to prayer” are quite rare for Baptist and evangelical churches. But it shouldn’t be for us at Ironbridge because Prayer is our first calling. I want to give a big “thank you” to the deacons, BridgeGroups, the Prayer Ministry, and our church staff for leading us in this most important time. The Prayer Guide is a resource to walk us through this Pastor Search process and beyond. Above all, keep praying, for it impacts the world and impacts each of us. No church ever got into trouble for truly praying too much, and none of us will ever regret that we prayed too much!!
Student Ministry June is a great month to celebrate our student ministry. Graduate Sunday, on June 13, will be a great time to visualize the ministry impact we are having. All our graduates–college and high school, will be honored that day. Be much in prayer for Zach and Jordyn Ginn and the rest of our Student Ministry as they lead us during this time.
Fuge Week at Liberty University Speaking of student ministry, please be much in prayer for our students and leaders as they are at Liberty University, June 21-25. Pray that lives will be changed as they encounter the Lord in many ways during that week of camp. It is tremendous what can happen in a student’s life during camp times.
Truth Matters The one thing that we are scarce of in this country is truth. We have a surplus in many things, but never too much truth. Because we live in a world that is content with deception as long as it makes us feel good, it is essential that we discern and share the truth. My next sermon series will be entitled, Truth Matters. Truth matters all the time but especially now. We get to walk each day in the Lord’s truth which is the safest and healthiest way to live. I am excited as we have a great summer ahead of us. We are also getting ready for fall ministry when things will be much more open than we have experienced in well over a year, and we will see some exciting things together.
From Pastor Zach:
The month of June is the final month of our sixth-month student ministry vision! We set out to aim to see each student own their faith in Christ and Leverage their lives for his cause.
We have witnessed this vision come to life.
Students have been owning their faith by engaging with God’s word on their own. As a student ministry, we have covered the books of Philippians and Jonah, along with parts of James, Acts, 1 Corinthians, and 2 Timothy through weekly gatherings rooted in gospel-centered preaching.
We have seen them leverage their faith by plugging into leverage teams on Sunday mornings. Through these teams we have created and executed over 6 “invite nights”, events students are proud to bring their friends to because they helped to form them. Letters have been hand-written to local businesses, church members, and those far off. Students have crafted questions on scripture for our weekly gatherings, and have learned how to select God-exalting songs for our worship team.
With all that God has done so far, it is only fitting that we celebrate with a bang. Here is a glance at the main events for this month (outside of our normal gatherings):
– Launch Trampoline Park Night, 6/2
– Graduation Sunday, 6/13
– Bruster’s Meet Up, 6/16
– Summer Camp June 21-25
For more details on these events and our regular rhythms, we invite you to explore our June calendar.
Sunday Morning Preschool through 5th grade all focus on the same theme and Bible Lessons during the summer. This summer’s theme is Press Play: Get in the Mix. It is also the theme for this summer’s VBS. We are focusing on Confidence: learning to see yourself the way God sees you.

A CALL TO PRAYER
Our prayer emphasis, set out last month by the Deacons, was a great success. We had many opportunities for special times of prayer. My hope is that this will continue! One of my BridgeGroup members suggested that once a month we make our weekly meeting fully devoted to prayer…so we are! I know there will be lasting benefits from this great season, and that you felt encouraged as the church, unified in prayer. I want to give a big thanks to our Deacons for this
great idea and for all the support throughout the process. Let it continue!
