June BridgeBlast

June BridgeBlast

From Pastor Gary:

SPARK STUDIOS – VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2022 – JUNE 21-24:  This year we are unwrapping the truth of being “Created in Christ” and “Designed for God’s Purpose.” The focus verse alone is exciting, Ephesians 2:10, “We are His WORKMANSHIP, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.” Registration has already opened, and it closes June 17th. Spark Studios starts on Tuesday, June 21st , and continues through Friday, June 24th , from 5:30pm – 8:00pm. It is for all children ages 3 years old through 5th grade (10/11 years of age). Friday, June 24th , is Family Night from 5:30pm- 8:00pm.  Families can stay Friday for our Final Worship Rally, then join us outside for a fun-filled evening with bounce houses, games, and treats. I hope you are already planning to be a part of this great event. See our Children’s Director’s (Tammy Baylor) section of this BridgeBlast for more info. Please sign up your children and their friends, volunteer as you are able, and pray for this great privilege of sharing God’s truth with children.

CHURCH PICNIC – JUNE 5 FROM 4:00 – 6:00 P.M:  What better way is there to enjoy a Sunday afternoon than food, fun and games! Paul Cochran, our Bridge Groups Director, and his crew have a great time planned. All we are asked to bring will be a dessert; everything else will be provided. This event will mark
the end of the year for those Bridge Groups taking a break for the summer. In addition, everyone will have the chance to sign up for special Connection Group opportunities this summer. I know many of you are already thinking ahead about Bridge Groups for the fall which will be a powerful way to grow in the Lord and His work.

PRAY FOR OUR PASTOR SEARCH PROCESS:  I want to continue to ask for your prayer support for our Search Team and Leadership as our search process narrows down. Everyone is committed to finding the Lord’s man to lead Ironbridge in this next season. Let’s just pray each step along the way for the church and for the pastor that the Lord is leading here. I want to encourage each of you to be strong in your daily walk in Jesus. We want to be available to the Lord and growing in Him. That’s what any pastor will want to find in a church, and better yet, that is what we have committed to be.

Pastor Gary

From Pastor Paul:

I have been so blessed, and hope you also have been, by our recent services at Ironbridge Church. It has been great to have some new involvement on our Worship Team with the addition of Amber Kilburn! She is our niece and is a gifted musician and worship leader. Her participation has encouraged me, and I know that you have been blessed by her presence. It is always our desire on the Worship Team to point people to God. We want to be a reflection of His glory as we lead. I pray that through Sunday Worship, and upcoming Worship Nights, we will grow in our hunger for authentic and real worship. Continue to pray for us as we seek to
lead in honoring ways.  Our Tech Team has been blessed with the addition of a husband and wife team who want to serve together. Steve and Marian George serve a couple times a month on screens and lights.  They are such a blessing to our Church! I am wondering if there are any other couples out there that might be interested in serving in this way. We can train you if you have the interest!  Just contact me at paulc@ironbridge.org and we can start the conversation.

As we move into a new season, there will be a few Bridge Groups that take a break, some that will just slow down a little, while others will continue to forge ahead. As summer arrives, we like to kick off what we call Connection Groups. These groups are formed around a particular activity and are a great avenue for meeting people at Ironbridge Church, especially those with like-minded interests. Connection Groups typically run from June through August but have the option to continue for a longer period of time. I am in the process of working through the creation of groups and their activities and will reveal them in just a couple weeks! I encourage you to consider joining one if you haven’t already.

I do hope that many of you will join us on the grounds for our Church-Wide Picnic. This will be on Sunday, June 5th , starting at 4 pm. We are providing BBQ, beans, and cole slaw. You are encouraged to bring a dessert to share. In addition to good food, there will be games, fellowship, and more information about Bridge Groups and Connection Groups. Join us!  And finally, I would just like to take a moment to thank the Pastor Search Team for their continued and undying persistence in seeking a new Lead Pastor for Ironbridge Church. This is easily one of the most critical decisions in Ironbridge Church’s history. I also would like to thank Pastor Gary for his commitment to see us through to the calling of a new Pastor. He has remained steady and consistent with us from the beginning, almost 3 ½ years ago! He has been, and continues to be, a blessing to all!

Take Care,

From Pastor Zach:

May served as a hinge on which many of our students left comfort to launch into a new chapter. On May 22, we had the honor of celebrating the remarkable achievements of eight of our graduating seniors. Tears were shed in a mixture of joy and a sweet form of sadness. Arms robed in graduation attire were raised during worship as students gave God glory for His years of faithfulness.
The event served as a reminder of the importance of what we, as a church family, are called to do. We have the privilege of guiding generations into deep fellowship with Jesus. What could be more important and exciting than that mission?
Here are our coming events:
🚩 Bruster’s Night, June 1, 6:30 pm: To celebrate the end of the school year, we will be meeting at Bruster’s for ice cream and relaxation with friends!
🚩 VBS, June 21-24: The student ministry is intentionally using each evening this week to leverage our gifts in serving in VBS. We invite you to join us in
helping to lead this fun experience: https://www.ironbridge.org/events/vbs-spark-studios/
🚩 Fuge Summer Camp 2022, July 18-22: We are excited to announce our return to Liberty University for Fuge Summer Camp. Register today: https://brgr.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/1235282
Young Adults
🚩 Summer is the perfect time to explore joining a group in the Young Adults Ministry! This summer has two options for gathering times: Mondays or Thursdays at 7 pm at Ironbridge.
🚩 Once a month, our two groups gather as a large group for a variety of events.
🚩 Our current book study is the Gospel of John. We invite you to read along and join us for a gathering.
For a deeper look into our summer schedule, we invite you to explore our calendar on the Ironbridge website.

With gratitude,

From BridgeKidz Director Tammy:

We begin summer in BridgeKidz by hosting our annual VBS event. This year VBS will be June 21st – 24th
Theme: Spark Studios – Created in Christ. Designed for God’s Purpose.
The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim and transform us—His creation—to the original design He planned for us. We are His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10) –a masterpiece in process. So, what are you waiting for? Spark your imagination and kick your creativity into high gear at Spark Studio!!
This event is a churchwide opportunity for us as the body of Christ to use our gifts and talents to minister to families with children in our church and reach out to families in our community to share the gospel of Jesus. Here are a few ways you can be part of this event:

Invite someone:
There are invitations you can pick up in the Welcome Area to share with neighbors, friends, and family to register their children to attend VBS. This event is free for children 3 years old through 5th grade. Registration is open now through June 17th .

Donate supplies and snacks:
There are many supplies needed to create a dynamic time for kids and their families. The Donation Station will be in the Welcome Area beginning Sunday, May 29th . Grab a card and bring back the items by Sunday, June 12th.
Sharing your time:
Serving is giving of your time. There are several ways to give your time in making this year’s VBS a time that kids will remember that they met Jesus.

Preparing Materials:
Copying, cutting, sorting, gathering…. Each Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9am-5pm, May 23rd – June 17th, please come to the church and help with making sure all the materials are ready.  Contact tammy@ironbridge.org.

Monday, June 20th – the stage and classrooms need to be set up for the week. Please help Joe Messenger and our amazing team build/set up for VBS.
Volunteering the week of VBS:

We need many people to be available the week of VBS to help teachers/leaders in Bible Time, games, music, crafts, and registration. Sign up at the Outreach Area in the Gathering or contact tammy@ironbridge.org.

Family Night:
Friday, June 24th, will be our final night of VBS. We will have an outdoor event with bounce houses, food, games, and fun to celebrate our great week with the entire family. Please help us out with setup, takedown, and be a friendly face of Ironbridge to welcome families and share the love of Jesus with them. Sign up at the Outreach Area in the Gathering or Contact tammy@ironbridge.org.

We look forward to seeing YOU at Spark Studios, where imagination is ignited and creativity is awakened!
