May Bridgeblast Staff

From Pastor Gary:

It was so exciting to be a part of our first “Drive In Worship” experience this past Sunday. We had over 120 vehicles in attendance. Going out on a limb I can estimate that each one of them had at least 1 person inside. In fact, most had either two or more inside of course. It was great to just see people and worship in the same general area. How about those “horn amens?” Because it was so good and a great way for people who are more vulnerable to the virus to be able to worship on site, we are going to be worshiping this way weekly for the foreseeable future. This means that at 10:45 this Sunday and beyond you will have the opportunity to worship either “Drive In” or “Online Live Streaming.” Thanks for your help in all this. We will be refining what we do each week to make sure we are staying safe, but also alive in worship. Thanks for everyone who was a part of this awesome experience the past week and will also be in the future. Also, thanks for your generosity in the offering. It was blessed and it was needed. Looking forward to worshiping with you this Sunday either at Drive In or Online.

As we move forward in ministry let us continue to pray for our leaders as we work our way through this coronavirus pandemic. Especially now as we begin to move about more and enjoy more of our freedoms soon pray for wisdom and courage as they make decisions.

Thanks for your generosity to the Chesterfield Food Bank as they are playing such a vital role in helping those who are hurting financially during this time. Let us continue this support in any way that we are able during this time of need.

From Office Staff:

Chesterfield County Public Schools providing meal pick-up at Ironbridge.  If you have a child or children who attend Chesterfield Co Schools then you are eligible for the meal program, especially if funds are a bit tight right now. The times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:15 – 12 noon. When parents pick up meals for children on Mondays and Wednesdays, each child will get six meals and two snacks. On Fridays, each child will get nine meals and three snacks. Just look for the school bus in front of the church. Note: Children do not have to be present to pick up meals. To pick up meals without a student present, please tell the CCPS staff member your student’s first and last name as well as their age. The program runs through June 30th.

From Paul C.:

Let me start by thanking you, Ironbridge Church, for comments during our online Services and Prayer times. They are an encouragement to the body of believers as we see you communicating with each other, and with staff, on how things are going. It helps us learn how to do things better. Last Sunday was quite enjoyable as we were able to meet in person through our first Drive-In Service. We are continuing to figure things out and appreciate knowing what makes that a better experience for you. I really want to commend Patrick Rogers and Andrew Cravey for figuring out so many technical things to make it all happen over the past weeks. We are continuing to stay limited on how many people we use in both tech and worship. Someday we will get back to a more normal way, until then, God will continue to stretch us, and help us develop new skills.

Most Bridge Groups are continuing to meet in creative ways. My prayer is that leaders and members are staying in touch with each other for mutual encouragement. As the summer draws closer, I am interested in helping Summer Connection Groups to form. In light of all that is going on, I want us to think about creating groups that could meet and connect while maintaining a bit of physical distance. We have some ideas about creating an outdoor area where groups could meet instead of being indoors. As those ideas are developed further, I will let leaders know what is available. Do you have an idea for a Summer Connect Group? Please email me at and let me know!
