Ironbridge has the opportunity to partner with the Senior Home Services committee, a volunteer organization assisting Chesterfield County seniors with minor home repairs and services. Most service requests are made because the senior or disabled resident can no longer perform the task themselves, nor afford to pay for the repair. Most requests would involve yard work (largest percentage of jobs) or home interior repairs.
Our goal is to complete one project per month. When requests are sent to Ironbridge, teams will be assembled based on the skills, interests and availability of volunteers. Please email Marjorie Loya at firstname.lastname@example.org to complete a short interest and skills inventory indicating the types of jobs for which you want to receive notifications.
Tyler’s Retreat on the third Saturday of each month from 2:30 until 3:30 PM. Bridgers are invited to come and sing hymns with the residents. Please email Cynthia Breckenridge at email@example.com for more details.
Our friends and former IBC members Aaron and Bonnie Wells serve as missionaries planting churches in Middlesex County. Their biggest project during the months of June and early July is the completion of a community skate park. They have been working on this for quite some time with help from the local
youth. These kids have few outlets for recreational activities, and the skateboarding ministry is an excellent way to encourage them.
They have all the materials they need, but need help to complete some of the physical work (cleaning off rust, painting, putting pieces together, etc.). Any time during the first two weeks in July are completely open for volunteers. However, other dates are available before then. Lunch would be provided and we can meet to carpool if needed. If you are interested, please email Marjorie Loya, IBC Missions Team Leader at firstname.lastname@example.org or text 804-868-6410 with the dates you are available to help. This would be a wonderful way to support our local missionaries.
